Fulton County Initiatives Census 2020

Census 2020

The Census occurs every 10 years and is the opportunity for Fulton County residents, and residents across the United States of America, to participate in our nation's most important statistical measure.

Data from the Census are used to allocate billions in federal funding to state and local communities each year for an entire decade. It is estimated that for each person counted in the 2020 Census, approximately $2300 per person will be returned to Georgia on an annual basis.

Those dollars fund vital programs and services including schools, hospitals, healthcare and transportation in our local communities. Census data are also used to determine our state's representation in the United States House of Representatives and state and local redistricting.
