The Marshal
Antonio Johnson is the Fulton County Marshal and enforces the orders, writs and precepts of the State and Magistrate Courts of Fulton County, and other courts of component judicial authority. The department is also responsible for Civil Processes, Evictions, Criminal Warrants and Executive Administration.
It is his responsibility to protect the peace in the County by enforcing traffic laws, arresting violators of the law and enforcing federal, state and local laws and ordinances. He manages a $5.7 million budget and 73 employees.
He was appointed by the Fulton County State Court Judges on March 21, 2007.
Marshal Johnson previously served as Commander of the Protective Measures Unit, Administrative Division as well as the Court Services Division for the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. In his role as Protective Measures Commander, he was responsible for countermeasures against threats against dignitaries and public officials. He commanded the Court Services Division and managed the Administrative Operation, which included an $83 million budget. Additionally, he served as a jailer, senior noncommissioned officer and a First Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force Reserves Security Forces Squadron, and retired after 21 years of military service.
Marshal Johnson holds an associate’s degree in Electronics from Devry University in Atlanta, Georgia, an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Air University (U.S. Air Force) and a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from American Military University.
Community ServiceÂ
The Fulton County Marshal’s Department is deeply committed to serving the community. We have hosted several Marshal’s Department Charity Basketball games in conjunction with other agencies and county departments. In addition, we participate in the annual Martin Luther King Day March, hold seminar for daycare centers and schools, have supported Easter Seals Walk with Me fundraisers, have supported Shop with a Cop, have supported the Fulton County Fire and Rescue Department School Supply Blitz, have participated regularly in Red Cross Blood drives as well as participated in functions in the public safety community such as the Fulton County Police Memorial, and the National Police Memorial.
