NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON MENTAL ILLNESS (NAMI) | Print |

The Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities collaborates with the Atlanta Branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.   NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, supports, and research, and is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope for all of those in need.

You can learn more about NAMI Georgia by visiting their website at: www.namiga.org.   In addition to the collaboration between our agency and NAMI Georgia, every year staff from the Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities participate in the annual NAMI Walk.

The NAMI Walk is a major fundraising event for NAMI Georgia, and also helps to raise awareness of the needs of individuals living with behavioral health disoredrs, while confronting the stigma surrounding mental illness.   Below is a program that aired  on Fulton County Government Television (FGTV), and shows  employees having fun while participating in the 2013 NAMI Walk at Piedmont Park in Atlanta.
