Description:
A Resolution (Item #91-FM-107) was adopted by the Board of Commissioners at the Finance Meeting of June 12, 1991 creating this authority. The 1990 General Assembly, recognizing the magnitude of the problem, enacted O.C.G.A. 48-4-60 st seq (hereinafter 'the Act') to permit any city and the county containing such a city to enter into an interlocal cooperation agreement for the purpose of establishing a land bank authority, the purpose of which would be to acquire tax delinquent properties of the County and/or the City in order to foster the public purpose of returning property which is in a nonrevenue generating, nontax producing status to an effective utilization status in order to provide housing, new industry, and jobs, for the citizens of the county.
