511 Mobile App will provide events, location-specific retail offers and real-time traffic updates

Fulton County recently announced a partnership today with 511Live to sponsor the Georgia 511 Travel Information System in an effort to launch the county's FulCo2GO mobile technology program.

This agreement will allow Fulton County to deliver tailored, location-specific messaging, county-specific event announcements and real-time traffic updates based on the consumer's location via the 511 Mobile App platform.

FulCo2GO is a new mobile technology initiative from Fulton County that offers the county a way to communicate via a mobile app about its programs, services and initiatives under the county's mantra, "Your County @ Your Service." The 511 Mobile App is currently available for Georgia travelers as a free download for iPhone users at the iTunes store (BlackBerry and Droid versions of the app coming soon, as well as additional state versions).

"We view this innovative smartphone app as the future of connecting with our community on a local basis, as well as reaching travelers on a national platform as a resource when visiting our area," said Zachary Williams, Fulton County Manager. "The FulCo2GO initiative through the 511 Mobile App allows users access to county info while they are on the go, and at the same time help them get to where they are going."

The 511 Mobile App offers commuters the most up-to-date traffic information available, as well as access to feeds directly from the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) video cameras posted along the highways. In addition, the 511 Mobile App will feature special offers and events for those in Fulton County, such as the new Wolf Creek Amphitheater, as well as local businesses and tourism partners.
