Deputy County Manager - Roberto Hernandez

Roberto Hernandez serves as Fulton County’s Deputy County Manager for Justice Systems. He brings to this role more than 20 years of experience in local government, as well as experience as 22-year United States Army Reservist

Hernandez serves as liaison to Fulton County’s justice system agencies, including the Superior Court, Superior Court Clerk, State Court, District Attorney, Solicitor General, Public Defender, Sheriff, Marshal, Probate Court, Juvenile Court, and Medical Examiner. These agencies have combined budgets of more than $200 million, or approximately one-third of Fulton County’s General Fund budget.
Prior to joining Fulton County, Hernandez served as Assistant to the County Administrator for Broward County, Florida. He has served in a number of capacities with local governments. Posts with Broward County included Assistant to the Director for Safety and Emergency Services Department, Assistant to the Director for the Human Services Department; Housing Resource Coordinator.

He also served as Commercial Revitalization Coordinator for the City of Homestead, Florida; Executive Director of Hispanic Unity of Florida; Housing Code Inspector for the City of Pompano Beach, Florida; and Housing Manager for the Broward County Housing Authority.

For 22 years, Hernandez has served as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. He currently serves as a senior instructor in civil-military operations. He has held several leadership positions and has served on Active Duty in support of several national contingency operations including Operation Enduring Freedom.

Hernandez holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Public Administration degree from Florida International University. Hernandez also obtained his certification in firefighting from the Broward Fire Academy.

He resides in Fulton County.
