What’s New @ AFPLS

Oprah Winfrey has added another great title to her book club-Ken Follett’s Pillars of the Earth. A story about the building of the a great Gothic cathederal, the book becomes a tale of brother against brother, good verses evil. Pillars has everything a great book should have-forbidden love, power struggles, the larger story of the state versus the church and fantastic characters, all set in 12th century England. I read this book in college and promptly re-read it as soon as I was done! Ken Follett has just published the sequel to this classic, World Without End. If you haven’t read Pillars before, or your memory of it is a bit hazy, now is a great time to start!
