Commissioner Garner's Legislative Highlights for 2011 |

The Fulton County Board of Commissioner's has diligently worked to ensure Fulton County services are provided to all constituents. Below are just a few legislative highlights personally sponsored or actively engaged in by Commissioner Garner to bring life to the voices of District 6 constituents.
- Voted to approve funding for $5.5 million to maintain Crestview Nursing Home, to ensure indigent seniors continue long term patient care

- Helped place $6.6 million into Fulton County's Health and Human Services Agency
|
- Lead the charge to place $4.4 million dollars into Fulton County Arts Council 2012 Budget
|
- Voted in favor of Fulton County's Human and Health services to merge into one Department to efficiently assist Fulton residents
|
- Advocated for $15 million to assist residents who need Behavioral Health assistance from the Fulton County Department of Health Services
|
- Supported the State of Georgia Child Development Grant of $135k for youth crime prevention & early intervention
|
- Supported approval of $62 million for Grady Hospital to continue service to uninsured residents of Fulton County
|
- Recognized October Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Fulton County
|
- Amended policy of Fulton County television broadcast of board meetings, changing the start time from 8pm to 6pm to keep residents informed on what occurs in their county government
|
- Supported and co-sponsored legislation with Commissioner Robb Pitts to end the practice of using sharp "bull hooks" in the training of elephants for circuses or other performances
|

Public Hearing Regarding Fulton County's FY2012 Proposed Budget |

Join me as I participate in the 41st Atlanta Pride Festival Parade on October 9, 2011 returning to Piedmont Park! The Parade will start at 1pm from the Civic Center Marta Station to Peachtree St. and ending at Piedmont Park!
