The Fulton County Board of Health is observing World AIDS Day on Friday, December 1st by offering   HIV health education and FREE HIV Testing and Counseling at two events.
According to the CDC, 1 in 2 people with HIV have had the virus at least 3 years before being diagnosed.   Therefore, Fulton County Board of Health encourages you to know your HIV status by getting tested and to learn about the latest in HIV treatment and prevention services offered through the Fulton County Board of Health.
Fulton Board of Health’s   World AIDS Day events are free and open to the public, featuring:
• Free condoms and condom demonstrations.
• Free, confidential HIV testing and counseling .
• Educational sessions on the medical and dental services for patients who are HIV positive.
• Information on PrEP, a pharmaceutical drug to prevent the spread of HIV for those who are at high risk.
• General health screenings.
HIV testing and education activities will be held at the following two locations:
• Fulton County Public Health Clinic, 10 Park Place South, SE., Atlanta, GA, 30303.
HIV testing begins at 8:00 a.m. followed by the HIV education sessions at 9:30 a.m.   Both the testing and education sessions are available until 3:30 p.m.

“A key HIV prevention strategy is for everyone to know their status and take preventive measures.   Getting tested, getting linked to medical care, using condoms or taking the PrEp pill if necessary, are all effective ways to prevent the spread of HIV,” explains   Dr. David Holland, Chief Clinical Officer, Fulton County Board of Health.
