What is that black, red, or pink stuff growing around my faucets and drains?
Mold, bacteria, and fungi readily grow on damp surfaces in our homes, especially around bathroom and kitchen fixtures. These microorganisms, which are naturally present in the air and non-potable water, can produce biofilms, or a glue-like coating, to help them stick to surfaces.   Keeping surfaces clean and dry is the best defense against growth of these biofilms.     Download a flyer for more information.

  • Disconnect garden hoses from outside faucets and use an insulated cover on the spigots.
  • Show every member of your household where to locate and how to operate the main water shutoff valve in the event of a burst pipe.
