Fulton County to Host Film and Entertainment Industry Open House | Print |

The Fulton County Department of External Affairs will host an Open House to receive feedback on possible policy changes regarding filming and production on Fulton County-owned property.  The Open House is scheduled for Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fulton County Aviation Cultural Community Center; 3900 Aviation Circle NW; Atlanta, Georgia 30336.

Fulton County’s commercial filming policy was last updated in the 1990’s.  With the growth of the film and television production industry in Georgia, Fulton County Government has seen an increase in the number of requests to film on properties owned by Fulton County.   The County is now seeking to update its policy to better meet the needs of the production industry while protecting the interests of the County and its residents. Proposed changes will consider three primary areas:

1. Fees - Updated fee structure (including fees for “premium” properties and modified fees for student/nonprofit arts organizations).

2. Risk Management - Improve risk management review process to include higher insurance requirements for projects with high risk activities, including those at high elevations (rooftops) or those using weapons, pyrotechnics, or aircraft/vehicles.

3. Location Agreement Modification – Create process to streamline location agreements for television series that may film multiple episodes on Fulton County property for one season. Also create standard agreement for production support, such as parking, catering services, or production base camp.
