The Exhibition featuring the works of Charlotte Riley-Webb will be featured at the Southwest Arts Center Performance Theater & Gallery beginning with an opening reception Friday, March 27, 2015 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.   The exhibition runs through April 24, 2015.

Fulton County 12 - Under Youth Boys Basketball Team Takes the 2015 GRPA State Championship | Print |

The Welcome All Park Gym 12-Under Basketball Team has done it again! The 12-U team won the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association State Championship this past weekend with a winning score of 49-46 over Savannah, Georgia.

The boys played in two leagues and played more than 20 games during the season to advance to the state championship held on Saturday, March 6 and March 7 in Griffin, Georgia at Taylor Road Middle School.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections will be required to change one (1) polling location for the Tuesday, March 17, 2015 City of Atlanta Special Election for Infrastructure Bond Referendums to pay for repairs and improvements. All affected voters will be notified of the change in location by first-class mail. Concerned residents are urged to check on-line to find out if the change would affect their poll on Election Day.

Retired Fulton County Commissioner Tom Lowe Passes Away at 86 | Print |

It is with sadness that we announce that retired Fulton County Commissioner Tom Lowe passed away today at age 86.  Commissioner Lowe was the longest-serving commissioner in Fulton County history, and was one of the longest-serving county commissioners in the state of Georgia.

Commissioner Lowe was first elected to the Board of Commissioners in 1974 and retired on December 31, 2014 after serving the citizens of Fulton County for 40 years. 

Lowe was known among his colleagues and staff for his vast institutional knowledge and his sense of humor.  He was a staunch supporter of Grady Hospital and consistently advocated for Grady funding.  He served on the Fulton County Recreation Authority, the Atlanta-Fulton County Water Resources Commission, and the Fulton County Pension Board.
