October is Domestic Violence Month
The odds are terrible. Nearly one in three women report being physically or sexually abused by a husband or boyfriend at some point in their lives. Each day in the US more that three women are murdered by their current or former husbands or boyfriends. It gets even worse. Georgia is ranked 10th nationally for its rate of men killing women. It can happen to anyone, at any age, no matter what gender, race or religion they are. Domestic violence also occurs in same sex relationships.

Fulton County to Host First Annual Vendor Opportunity Day on Nov 1 |

Fulton County Department of Purchasing and Contract Compliance will host the first annual vendor opportunity day on November 1 at the Fulton County Government Center. This Vendor Opportunity Day will provide a forum for businesses, government purchasing officers and private industry to share ideas and develop business partnerships. Organizations interested in doing business with Fulton County Government are encouraged to participate.

Fulton County Awarded Funding Through Federal Second Chance Act |

Fulton County has been granted approximately $749,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice as a part of the federal Second Chance Act. The monies will be used to fund a program designed to reduce recidivism. Fulton County is among 166 organizations in the U.S. – and one of only 17 counties – that will receive Second Chance Act funding this year.
