On Monday, December 13, 2010, the Atlanta Community Access Coalition-Corporation for National and Community Service Foster Grandparent Program participants will be recognized for their efforts.  Participants of this program are seniors ages 55 and up.  They take time out of their schedules to nurture disadvantaged or disabled youth.

Many Fulton County seniors have a new source for safe and reliable transportation with the launch of new Dial-a-Ride Transporation Services (DARTS). 

World AIDS Day Draws Attention to Need for Increased Testing | Print |

According to the Georgia Division of Public Health, the number of Georgians living with HIV/AIDS jumped almost 27 percent from 2004 to 2007.  Fulton County comprises 10 percent of Georgia’s population and accounts for 54 percent of the state’s AIDS cases.  In recognition of World AIDS Day, December 1, 2010, the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness encourages residents to take control and get tested to learn their status.


Fulton Board Begins Consideration of Proposed 2011 Budget | Print |

In their meeting today, Wednesday, November 17, 2010, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners accepted the County’s proposed 2011 budget. The proposed budget anticipates no tax increase, no layoffs or furloughs, and maintains current service levels.

The Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections will hold a runoff election in four political races on Tuesday, November 30, 2010.
