The Center for Health and Rehabilitation

Adult Addictive Diseases & Substance Abuse services are provided at the state-of-the-art Center for Health and Rehabilitation, which opened in September 2005 for outpatient substance abuse treatment. This service allows the Addictive Disease Program to provide on-demand treatment services, without waiting lists or significant delays or obstacles to access.

The program adheres to guidelines of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) evidence-based Principles of Addiction Treatment and offers the Core Service Elements recommended by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment.

The components of the treatment program are designed to address clients' physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. The service offerings are customized for women, men, and those challenged with mental illness or HIV/AIDS and substance abuse issues. In addition to traditional therapies focusing on chemical dependency, the program includes sessions focusing on parenting, self-esteem, stress, anger management, assertiveness and work readiness. The Center for Health and Rehabilitation also serves as a hub for community-based interventions by fielding a team of experienced outreach workers and substance abuse educators, hosting 12-step, self-help support group meetings such as Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) on a daily basis.

GROUP THERAPY PROGRAM SCHEDULE:

Below is the schedule of group therapy programs:

 

MONDAY

• Recovery for Life (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) -  this is a non-residential organized group service totaling six hours per week, in which directed treatment & recovery services are provided, that help patients cope with life tasks without non-medical use of psychoactive substances
• Living & Loving Life: Healthy Relationships (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM) - this group therapy program will help you to identify unhealthy relationships & teach skills to formulate healthy and lasting relationships
• Men's Talk (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM) - this group helps men to share common feelings, concerns, and experiences.  Men also learn to supply positive feedback and work through change
• Parenting Group (3:00 PM - 4:00 PM)

TUESDAY

• Stress Management (1:00 PM - 2:00 PM) - this group focuses on identifying stress, and learning healthy & effective ways to deal with stress during your daily life.
• Men's Talk (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM) - this group helps men to share common feelings, concerns, and experiences.  Men also learn to supply positive feedback and work through change
• Recovery for Life (Time to be announced) - this is a non-residential organized group service totaling six hours per week, in which directed treatment & recovery services are provided, that help patients cope with life tasks without non-medical use of psychoactive substances

WEDNESDAY

• Recovery for Life (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) - this is a non-residential organized group service totaling six hours per week, in which directed treatment & recovery services are provided, that help patients cope with life tasks without non-medical use of psychoactive substances
• Anger Is an Emotion (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM) - this group will enable participants to learn new ways to control and manage anger, to prevent it from controlling you
• Love Doesn't Hurt: Domestic & Family Violence (1:30 PM - 2:30 PM) - this group provides education on domestic violence, its effects on others, and establishing responsibility and equality in relationships
• Recovery for Life (Time to be announced) - this is a non-residential organized group service totaling six hours per week, in which directed treatment & recovery services are provided, that help patients cope with life tasks without non-medical use of psychoactive substances
• AA Support Group (6:00 PM - 7:00 PM) - This group is operated by non-Fulton County Government staff.  Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other, so that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism

THURSDAY

• Women's Circle: Support Group for Women (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM) - this support group for women discusses ongoing issues and challenges faced in today's society
• Men's Talk (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM) - this group helps men to share common feelings, concerns, and experiences.  Men also learn to supply positive feedback and work through change
• Determined.Active.Dedicated.Supportive (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM) - this teen dads support group helps young men to focus on employment skills, basic needs, parenting, co-parenting relationships, improve or enhance payments of child support, prevention of second pregnancies and domestic disputes

FRIDAY

• Recovery for Life (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) - this is a non-residential organized group service totaling six hours per week, in which directed treatment & recovery services are provided, that help patients cope with life tasks without non-medical use of psychoactive substances
• Empowering Yourself: A Women's Self-Esteem (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM) - a woman's self-hlp group that focuses on empowerment, boundary development and self-love
