Keeping Up With You
District 6 is a vibrant sector of Fulton County, filled with committed citizens who take pride in their community. In fact, there are more than seventy-six (76) community, civic and neighborhood associations meeting monthly throughout the district. It takes a fair amount of planning and a good bit of energy to keep up with all of your energy, ideas, and concerns--not to mention the meeting schedule!
I have come up with a plan that I hope will make it possible for me to serve you better. Please read on and let me know what you think.
Since I can't get to all of the community meetings as often as I would like, I have been hosting a Quarterly Community Leadership Breakfast. We invite the president or chair of every neighborhood association, NPU or civic group to join us for breakfast while we talk about your concerns and respond to your right to good service delivery.
I have also sent a letter to each of those same groups encouraging them to call and let us know when you want to include a report from Fulton County on your meeting agenda. Of course between myself, Sharon, Gail, Jerica and Richard, we try to attend at least 8 NPU and 4 neighborhood meetings each month. Keeping up with District 6 is challenging and very exciting.
Another means of communicating with you is through a "Meet and Greet". A "Meet and Greet" is a vehicle used by District 6 citizens to address their concerns to me in a more personal and relaxed setting. Issues such as the impact of new cities on county revenue, the Fulton County budget, the Library Facilities Master Plan and my involvement in the development of the Beltline have been topics of discussion. If you are interested in hosting a "Meet and Greet ", please contact my office. We will gladly supply the refreshments.
Other ideas or suggestions about how I can better serve you are welcomed.
