Employment Search Assistance on the Way for Fulton County Citizens |

Unemployed adults in Fulton County can now take advantage of additional services to assist them in their job search. The Fulton County Board of Commissioners voted today, September 1, 2010, to accept three grants totaling $759,647. The Department of Housing and Human Services will manage the grants and provide services.
The three grants include:
- $200,000 from the U. S. Department of Labor, ARRA/Workforce Investment Act, Rapid Response Grant (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act)
- $406,960 from the Georgia Department of Labor Workforce Investment ACT (WIA) – Dislocated Worker Program
- $152,687 from the Georgia Department of Labor Workforce Investment Act (WIA) – Adult Program
Each grant will provide residents with assistance in their search for unsubsidized employment that leads to self-sufficiency. Clients will receive intensive services, vocational training, life skills training, childcare services, transportation assistance, job readiness and job placement.
