Fulton County to Conduct Recount in Superior Court Judge Election | Print |

The Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections will conduct a recount of the votes cast in the election for Superior Court Judge on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 10 a.m.

The recount will be held at the Fulton County Election Preparation Center (1365 English Street, Atlanta, GA 30318).

Candidate Kelly Amanda Lee received the most votes (47,877 – 25.19%).  Only 53 votes separate the second (Shelitha Robertson 41,140 – 21.64%) and third place (Clarence Johnson 41,087 – 21.62%) candidates. The recount was requested by Mr. Johnson. Because the margin of votes between Mr. Johnson and Ms. Robertson is less than 1%, the request was automatically approved by the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections

The two candidates receiving the most votes will take part in a runoff election to be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010.

The seat is currently held by Superior Court Judge Melvin K. Westmoreland. He is retiring at the end of the year.
