Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure, non-traumatic lower limb amputations, and new cases of blindness among adults in the United States.Â In an effort to increase awareness to this epidemic, the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellnessâ€™ Office of Health Promotions will host information session on Diabetes ALERT Day and will hold a meeting to place residents on notice about the devastating effect of this disease on individuals and families.
The session will be held from10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at the Center for Health and Rehabilitation located at 265 Boulevard NE, Atlanta, GA 30312.
This meeting will provide an opportunity for residents to share perspectives on some of the most challenging issues surrounding Diabetes in Fulton County and to identify focus areas that can be addressed through group collaboration.
