Older adults in need of preventive health care screenings at no cost or at a lower cost can take advantage of upcoming SPARC (Sickness Prevention Achieved through Regional Collaboration) clinics that begin at the end of March. The 2011 clinics headed by the Fulton County Department of Housing and Human Services Office of Aging will feature new Sleep Screenings to evaluate those who may have trouble getting a good night’s sleep.

SPARC Clinics are much more than health fairs. Citizens who visit SPARC clinics take advantage of more than a dozen health screenings and vaccinations, nutrition counseling and vision exams. The clinics provide referrals when appropriate and track the actions and progress of those who attend.
Services available for those who visit the spring 2011 clinics include:

SPARC Atlanta is administered through a partnership between the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Fulton County Office of Aging. The Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness, area hospitals and several other nonprofit organizations comprise a collaborative group that organizes health screenings and services.
