Fulton County property owners can anticipate receiving an assessment notice from the Board of Assessors in the next few days.
A new state law requires counties to issue property assessment notices to all property owners annually. Assessment notices will be mailed to the more than 300,000 property owners in Fulton County on Saturday, May 7, 2011.
The Fulton County Board of Assessors is holding a series of public meetings entitled “Understanding Your Assessment Notice” at locations throughout the County. The meetings are designed to educate property owners on the changes to property assessment notices and the changes in the appeals process brought on by the new state law. Members of the Board of Assessors staff will be on hand at the meetings to answer property owners’ questions. For more information on the public meetings or the property tax assessment notices, log on to www.fultonassessor.org or call 404-612-6440.
