Entertainer Tyrese Joins Fulton County Commissioners in Promoting “Peace Week” | Print |

Peace Week begins September 17 and continues through September 24, 2011

Singer, rapper, actor and author Tyrese (right front) joined Fulton County Commissioners and the Office of Children and Youth in the presentation of a proclamation in honor of events surrounding the upcoming “Peace Week.”   The week is designed to educate the community on the need to stop violence and crime among youth people.  “Peace Week” kicks off on September 17, 2011, at 9:00 a.m. with a rally with entertainment and education in front of the Fulton County Government Center at 141 Pryor Street in Atlanta.       The week features events and education activities within schools, community groups, faith-based organizations and among youth.  Activities conclude on September 24, with a S.O.A.R (Seeking Options for Active Resolutions for Peace) Convention for young people.  The convention will feature education and workshops that will focus on violence prevention, entertainment, employment search resources as well as resources for those young people interested in higher education.
