Fulton County Requests Proposals for $1,300,000 in CHDO Set Aside Funds
Funds are part of Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME)
The Fulton County Department of Housing and Human Services announces the availability of funding through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD’s) HOME Investment Partnerships Program. The funds are specifically for non-profit entities certified as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO). These funds are limited to CHDOs serving as the owner, developer and/or sponsor on housing development activities that result in decent, affordable housing for low‐ to moderate‐income households in Fulton County that are outside of the city limits of Atlanta, Johns Creek, Roswell, and Sandy Springs.
Eligible applicants must have proven ability to develop affordable housing in Fulton County. Applicants must be certified, or in the process of being certified by the Fulton County Housing Division as qualified CHDO. The applicants must also meet all application requirements outlined in the Request for Application packet.
Eligible CHDO set‐aside activities to be considered include:
- acquisition and/or rehabilitation of rental property,
- new construction of rental housing,
- acquisition and/or rehabilitation of homebuyer property,
- new construction of homebuyer property, and
- direct financial assistance to purchasers of HOME‐assisted housing sponsored or developed by a CHDO with HOME funds.
The Housing Division is primarily seeking applications that demonstrate the capacity to support the housing goals of 1) increasing Transitional Housing for Families and 2) increasing Housing for seniors age 55 and Older. CHDO supports the Fulton County Housing and Human Services 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan
The available funds will be awarded through a competitive application process. The Fulton County Office of Housing and Community Development will evaluate and rank all applications, submit eligible applications to the Housing and Human Services Department for recommendations, then forward the recommendations to the Fulton County Board of Commissioners for final approval.
