Fulton County Clubhouse for Youth Holds Open House | Print |

The Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities will hold an open house for the Fulton County Clubhouse for Youth on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at 1480 Delowe Drive, Atlanta. The Clubhouse serves as an education, prevention and early intervention program for adolescents ages 14 thru 17 years old with emerging substance use issues.

The Clubhouse for Youth is a place where teens can spend their out-of-school time learning skills to keep them safe, in school, healthy and drug free.  The services provided are offered in a group setting and include substance abuse education, behavioral health intervention and a variety of life skills training including budgeting, healthy cooking, GED preparation and job search skills.

Services are provided during non-traditional hours to allow youth an alternative place to spend their after-school hours. The program has a "clubhouse" atmosphere with activities geared towards adolescents, including pool tables, Wii, PlayStation, and outdoor basketball courts.  Youth also take field trips around metropolitan Atlanta and the state of Georgia.
