Fulton County is holding a Grand Opening celebration at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 7,2012, to dedicate the newly constructed Adamsville Regional Health Center (ARHC) located at 3700 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., SW, Atlanta, GA 30331.  An exciting day of activities is planned including a brief program, tours of the facility, games and entertainment for children, and refreshments.  Visitors will have an opportunity to meet county leaders and the health and social service providers who will staff the new center.

The ARHC is a major component of the Board of Commissioners’ signature, comprehensive program to reduce and eliminate the high rate of health disparities across Fulton.  The widely-praised initiative seeks to improve access to integrated, coordinated, quality healthcare by uniting services and moving them closer to neighborhoods.  The Adamsville Regional Health Center is the county’s third integrated care facility to open within the last three years.  Like the Neighborhood Union and North Fulton Health Centers before it, Adamsville will offer primary care, public health, behavioral health and dental services, housing assistance, employment assistance.  This center will feature a day care center where clients can drop-off their children while they are getting services.

Fulton County Health Services is joined in providing healthcare by West End Medical Centers, Inc.  West End Medical will deliver the following:  Primary Care, Dental, Internal Medicine/Family Practice, Pediatrics/Adolescent, a Behavioral Health Wellness Program, a Diabetes Management Program, Health Education, a Pharmacy Patient Assistance Program and a Youth Wellness Program, greatly expanding healthcare options available to this under-served community.

The estimated $8 million dollar project involved the purchase of 4 acres of land located near the current Adamsville Health Center. The new center includes a handicapped accessible community garden, space for visiting farmer’s markets and a walking trail.

The Adamsville Regional Health Center is the first of the county‚Äôs integrated care centers to be built ‚Äúfrom-the-ground-up.‚Ä̬† Residents played an unprecedented role in the planning, design and construction of the new health facility.
