Fulton Animal Services and the Georgia Department of Agriculture Rescue 14 Horses from Local Horse Farm

Fulton County Animal Services in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Agriculture impounded 14 horses today from the Heritage Farms Horse Farm located in South Fulton County on Butner Road.
Animal Services issued 14 citations to the operator of the horse farm citing cruelty to animals. The horses suffered from infections, malnutrition and a variety of other illnesses due to neglect.
Fulton County Animal Services issued a warrant to enter the property and to impound the horses. ‚ÄúThe owner of these animals will be in court in front of a Fulton County Magistrate Judge facing 14 counts of animal cruelty. The protection and humane treatment of animals is a priority for Fulton County Government,‚ÄĚ said Tony Phillips Assistant Director of Planning and Community Services.
The Georgia Department of Agriculture has transported the horses to Mansfield Farms in North Georgia where they will be treated for their injuries and nursed back to good health.
