Fulton County to Host Homeowner Rehabilitation and General Contractor Workshops | Print |
Fulton County will host homeowner rehabilitation assistance workshops and accept pre-applications from Fulton County’s low to moderate-income homeowners.    At the workshops scheduled for January 10 and 11, 2018 at the County’s North and South Fulton Annexes, Fulton County’s staff will walk residents through the program components and speak to each applicant individually to provide hands on assistance with the pre-application.

"Fulton County is committed to assisting its low to moderate income residents by providing critical structural and safety-related repairs to existing homes for those homeowners most in need," said Frankie Atwater, director of ¬† ¬†Fulton County‚Äôs Department of Community Development. ¬† ¬†"We are honored to provide this critical service to our residents.‚ÄĚ

Assistance is provided to residents in order to bring substandard, single family, owner-occupied residential properties into compliance with federal regulations and County codes.      Properties located in the cities of Atlanta, Roswell, Sandy Springs, and Johns Creek, are not eligible for assistance under this program.

In addition to hosting the homeowner rehabilitation workshops, Fulton County is working to increase its list of eligible General Contractors and encourages local General Contractors to complete a vendor application with the County.    With an expanded Contractor’s list, the Fulton County Department of Community Development hopes to increase the volume of homes rehabilitated through the program.

Staff will host a Contractor’s workshop February 16, 2018 at the South Fulton Annex to discuss the County’s processes and 2018 rehabilitation projections. The workshop is open to current, new and general contractor companies that are interested in working with the County.
