Fulton County Juvenile Court hosts the 17th Annual Youth and the Law Summit

The Fulton County Juvenile Court will host the 17th Annual Youth and the Law Summit on Saturday, April 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the State Bar of Georgia located at 104 Marietta Street NW, 3rd Floor Conference Center, Atlanta, GA. 30303.

The 2024 theme for the Summit is “Reframing Our Future." Youth and their parents or guardians will have an opportunity to learn about their rights, obtain community resources, and participate in inspiring discussions with presenters. The Annual Youth and the Law Summit is held yearly during the month of April. The intent of the Summit is to continue to be a bridge between our youth and the tools they can use to pursue brighter futures.

Fulton County Juvenile Court partners with the community to bring programming to our at-risk youth. Some of these community partners include the Gate City Bar Association, Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, Constangy Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP, youthSpark, Morgan & Morgan, and the At-Promise Initiative, Atlanta Police Foundation. The Summit is hosted by Fulton County Juvenile Court’s Chief Judge Renata Turner and co-chaired by Darrick McDuffie, Senior Counsel at Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP, and Dr. J.L Wyatt-Keyton, Executive Director of Career Services and Professional Development at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. The Summit will feature a panel discussion with a panel of youth and Julious George Khalid of Young Generation Movement. Also, presenting at this year’s Summit are the esteemed Lashawnda Woods-Roberts, Lisa Thomas, Todd Wilcher, Laurie Thomas, Will Bracker, Charlie Britt, Ian Elmore-Moore, Toyasha Albert, and Bevin Carpenter.
