 Deela Brown

If you are looking for Deela Brown, don't visit her office at the Fulton County Oak Hill Child, Adolescent & Family Center.  Instead, just ask the students at Alonzo A. Crim Open Campus High School.  They look forward to seeing her everyday.

"I tell the kids that when they come into my office, it's their safe space," says Brown. "If they are struggling with an issue, I will help them resolve it or I will connect them with someone who can help them."

Deela provides school-based mental health therapy to youth between 14 to 21 years old at the school, as part of the APEX Grant.  Through the grant, mental health therapy is provided to students at six Fulton County Schools, including Forrest Hill Academy, Banneker High School, Heritage Elementary School, Woodland Middle School, and Creekside High School.  For more information about the APEX program, please call Oak Hill at (404) 612-4111.
