During her tenure, Commissioner Boxill has created numerous programs to help the community:
- Established a pilot program for second and third-shift child care
- Insured handicapped access to the Fulton County Administration Building and Judicial Center
- Launched an effort to protect female-owned businesses under the county's affirmative action program
- Created the Fulton County Roundtable on Children in order to address numerous children-at-risk more effectively with programs such as Beat the Odds and the FRESH grants
- Implemented a child care lottery, child care co-op, and medical leave plan for Fulton County employees
- Inspired the Board of Commissioners to establish a Human Services Department to better serve the citizens of Fulton County
- Created the "Beat the Odds" Program for Fulton County high school students who have overcome obstacles and achieved success
- Created an Art and Essay Contest to inspire public school students to explore medical fields as a career option
- Created the FRESH Program (Fulton Roundtable Expanded Service Headquarters) which provides year-round programs for children and youth to supplement and expand existing community-based organizations
- Led the efforts to computerize the immunization records of children
- Spearheaded efforts to build the Hughes Spalding Children's Hospital to expand the Grady Health System's services for children
- Created tough new penalties for owners who fail to properly maintain their properties
Successfully led efforts to gain funding and commence building of the Southeast Neighborhood Senior Center & Mills Senior Multipurpose Facility
- Advocated tougher laws for adults involved in child prostitution. Signed by governor and went into effect July 1, 2001
- Introduced legislation to allow that frequency of calls to the police department be permitted as a criterion when an establishment is being considered for the issuance or renewal of a liquor license. Effective January 2006.
