Seeking Assistance to Identify Skeletal Remains
The Fulton County Medical Examiner is seeking assistance to identify two cases of skeletal remains found in recent weeks.
Case 12-0079
These remains were found near Paines Avenue and Pike Avenue in Northwest Atlanta on January 11, 2012. The decedent is thought to be a White male, possibly of American Indian or Hispanic mix, approximately 5 feet seven inches tall, and 30-45 years of age.
Circumstances indicate that he probably died in year 2010 or after and probably was a smoker. A syringe was found suggesting diabetes or drug abuse. There is indication that this man had a broken nose and fractures of the face in the past, and one finger on the right hand was permanently bent at a 90 degree angle (probably the middle finger or ring finger). The man was clad in a pair of Nike "Skeet" model shoes, size 9 1/2, and a pair of camouflage pants. A Honda automotive key was also found with the remains. Multiple teeth showed metal fillings.

Case 12-0107
These remains were found near Feldwood Road in College Park on January 16, 2012. They are thought to be those of a female approximately 30-45 years of age, and approximately 5 feet 6 inches in height. The condition of the remains did not allow for evaluation of teeth or race. An "Element" brand wristwatch and a pair of Nike "Dart" shoes, size 8 1/2 were found with the remains. Based on the manufacture date of the shoes, the decedent probably died in 2008 or after.
