The goal of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Unit (PSR) is to provide a state-of-the-art psychosocial rehabilitation interventions to the consumers of the Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health &  Developmental Disabilities. The program will implement changes that are in compliance with service guidelines of providing rehabilitation/recovery approaches, best practice and an evidenced-base model of care.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation is a therapeutic, rehabilitative, skills building and recovery promoting service for individuals to gain the skills necessary to allow them to remain in or return to naturally occurring community settings and activities. Services include but are not limited to:

• Individual or group skill building activities that focus on the development of skills to be used by individuals in their living, learning, social and working environments
• Illness and medication self-management
• Prevocational skills
• Recreational activities/leisure skills that improve self-esteem and recovery
