The mission of the Solid Waste Management Program is to provide for the effective management of solid waste collection and disposal in unincorporated Fulton County in accordance with the requirements of the Georgia Solid Waste Management Act.

The Fulton County Department of Public Works is committed to ensuring the effective management of solid waste, and that Fulton County citizens receive quality, environmentally friendly waste collection services.

The solid waste program is organized into the following areas:

• Resource management that includes management of composting and recycling facilities, transfer stations operations, and post closure care of the County’s closed solid waste landfills
• Regulatory oversight of private trash and residential solid waste providers
• Scrap Tire Management
• Bulk Waste Amnesty Days and Community Cleanups
• Oversite of the Providence Park Environmental Remediation Project
