Complaint Process Training

This class provides an excellent opportunity for employees and managers to gain an understanding of how the Fulton County Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Disability Affairs (OEEODA) processes complaints. By the end of the session participants will be able to distinguish between general employee grievances and EEO complaints. Participants are also taught how to file an EEO complaint in an easy to understand step by step format. Finally, the roles and responsibilities of managers in the EEO process are explained. Information packets, which can be used as quick, future reference guides are provided during the class.

Foundations in Diversity Cultural Competence Workshop 

Foundations in Diversity and Cultural Competence  
"Foundations" is a 1 ½ day comprehensive introductory course designed to acquaint participants with cultural issues impacting personal and professional workplace and service delivery interactions. Primary focus is placed on assisting participants to identify and implement personal strategies leading to increased understanding, respect, and productivity in the context of cultural difference. Major objectives for this session are listed below:

  • Increase participant awareness and understanding of cultural differences and their impact upon workplace and service delivery relationships;

  • Help participants recognize how cultural differences can pose barriers to diversity and cultural competence;
  • Assist participants to develop strategies and skills to overcome identified barriers.

New Employee Orientation
This workshop will focus on Fulton County benefits, basic conditions of employment, various county personnel regulations, health and wellness, customer service and the expectations of all employees as it relates to job performance. The workshop will also focus on the Federal laws and the county’s policies and procedures that prohibit employment discrimination. Employees will complete mandatory paper work such as the oath of office, I-9, security questionnaire, workers’ compensation, health insurance and other paper work required to complete the employee’s personnel file.

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (SHPT)
Based on the most current federal laws and County policies, this exciting, proactive class is designed to raise awareness of today’s most critical sexual harassment issues. Through an engaging lecture and interactive case studies, participants will learn how to identify sexually harassing conduct. In addition, participants will gain a clear understanding of their rights under Fulton County’s anti discrimination and harassment and retaliation.
