One June 15, 2000 Governor Roy Barnes signed and designated Fulton County a Service Delivery Area (SDA).  Although most Workforce Investment Boards or WIB’s handle or control funding Fulton County was designated by the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) to be the administrator of the WIA Grant for Fulton County.  As such the Director of Human Services and the Division Manager of the Office of Workforce Development work closely to attend a variety of federal, state and local SDA and WIB meetings to ensure the voice and needs of the residents of Fulton County are represented.  In addition as the Grant Administrator the Director of Human Services along with the Division Manager of the Office of Workforce Development is responsible for the administration of funds for seven (7) multi-million dollar grants, implementation of programs and services (on-going and new) as well as monitoring compliance of all federal and state grants.
