Fulton County Cyber Incident Update - February 5

February 05, 2024

Fulton County staff worked through the weekend to continue our investigation into the recent cybersecurity incident and restore affected systems.

Fulton County has informed local and federal law enforcement and engaged outside experts to investigate and assist in the recovery process. It is important to note that there is no evidence or reason to believe that this incident is related to the election process or other current events.

While there are limits to the information we can provide at this time due to the ongoing investigation, we will continue to provide accurate and timely information to Fulton County residents and our other stakeholders.

The Fulton County IT team has made significant progress over the weekend in bringing certain services back online – but there is still more work to complete in order to make a full recovery, which will take time.

Throughout this process, we are prioritizing public safety and supporting essential services with workarounds that have been implemented for the time being so that we may continue to support Fulton County residents during the restoration process.
