Can another family member pick up my birth certificate?

Please contact the Fulton County Board of Health, Vital Records Division, for questions regarding birth certificates. The phone number is talkdesk404-613-1260.

How may I obtain my business license in Fulton County?

The Fulton County Business Occupational Tax Division issues Business Occupational Tax Certificates to businesses that are located within the Fulton Industrial District of Fulton County only. The Fulton Industrial District of Fulton County includes those areas inside the #70 Taxing District. Business Occupational Certificates are issued on behalf of Fulton County by Revenue Discovery Systems (RDS), a third party contractor.

For questions regarding Occupational Tax Certificate renewals, lodging tax or alcohol/wine tax within the Fulton Industrial District please contact RDS at 800-556-7274. For questions regarding the issuance of a new Business Occupational Tax Certificate please contact the Fulton County Business Occupational Tax Division at 404-612-7722.

The Fulton County Business Tax resolution mandates that all persons, firms or corporations located or engaged in business in the Fulton Industrial District register their businesses. Businesses are registered by applying for a Business Occupational Tax certificates and paying the associated administrative fees and Occupational taxes required for your business. Business Occupational Tax Certificates are valid for a calendar year, January 1st through December 31st and must be renewed by March 31st of each year.

For new Business Occupational Tax Certificates for new businesses within the Fulton Industrial District, applications must be submitted in person at the following Fulton County Business License Office:

To obtain a business license for businesses located outside of the Fulton Industrial District of Fulton County, you will need to contact the appropriate city to obtain a Business Occupational Tax Certificate.

Where do I sign up for water service in Fulton County?

The Water & Sewer Billing and Collections Division manages the water and sewer accounts for residents in north Fulton County, north of the Chattahoochee River. Our service area includes the City of Alpharetta and the unincorporated sections of Alpharetta, Roswell, Duluth, Milton, Suwannee, Johns Creek and Woodstock. Fulton County does not directly provide water or sewer service to the resident of the City of Atlanta.

Who do I call regarding the assessment of my property?

The Fulton County Tax Assessors Office handles concerns regarding property tax assessments and appeals.  The phone number is talkdesk404-612-6440.

Who do I call to have a Fulton County animal ordinance enforced?

Fulton County Animal Services Officers enforce Fulton County animal ordinances. Please call 404-613-0358 to request field service Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to request the following assistance:

  • Dog bites
  • Injured animals
  • Cruelty to animals
  • Dog/Cock fighting
  • Loose animals
  • Welfare checks
  • License/rabies vaccination violations
Officers are available after regular hours for emergencies only. Emergencies consist of animal cruelty, animal bites, etc. Fulton County Animal Services Officers cannot respond to calls from owners wanting to surrender their own animals. If you need to surrender your own pet, call 404-613-0358 to make an appointment at the shelter.
