The annual Public Works Equipment Rodeo commenced during the annual Public Works Week. Hear more from Public Works Director David Clark. Every year we celebrate Public Works Week: a bunch of events: some involving the public, some involving the elected officials. Today it's staff focused. We're having our annual equipment rodeo where we do a series of skill tests on a variety of different equipment that we use every day. Right now we're doing a basketball challenge where you have to put a basketball into the bucket of an excavator, and then you put the basketball over into a pipe. It sounds easy, but it's very difficult, it's under time, it's under a lot of pressure, and there's a lot of good camaraderie between the north versus south crews. I like Public Works Week because that kinds of gives us a chance to really shine and remind people what we do every day so that they don't have to think about what we do.
