Happening in Fulton: District 4 Town Hall: Commissioner Mo Ivory Meets with Midtown Residents
Commissioner Mo Ivory brought residents together for a town hall in Midtown. Hear more from District 4 Commissioner Mo Ivory. So we just had a town hall right here at the Plaza Theatre in Midtown specifically to hit those neighborhoods right here in Midtown in my District 4. I could just tell residents what's going on in Fulton County. I am very dedicated to educating constituents about what is happening and how we're spending their money. When they watch the BOC meetings I want them to be able to then come and ask questions for clarification on anything that they don't know about, and that's exactly what they did. Folks are worried about safety. Folks are worried about how we are spending their money and how we're preparing for a new budget come 2026. They're worried about their taxes and the way that their properties are being assessed. I don't think that people mind paying their taxes. In fact, most people want to do their fair share, want to pay what their taxes say that they should pay, but they definitely want to make sure that it's equitable between residential taxes and commercial taxes. That is something that definitely came up this meeting. Town hall meetings are so important because you know everybody's on edge right now with the current state of our nation. So it's really important to meet with people face to face to talk to them, and that's why I'm doing these round of in-person town halls.
