Fulton County celebrated Deborah Roberts book Sisters Loved and Treasured: Stories of Unbreakable Bonds. Hear more from Journalist/Author Deborah Roberts. This book was inspired by my own sisterhood. When I was thinking about what I wanted to talk about, I sort of thought family and family connections would be something to explore because I had explored the connections with teachers before. I thought well what do I know better than sisterhood because I have a lot of sisters. But I also wanted to think about my own connections and what I could do better in my own life and how I might heal any connections in my own life. In some ways, this book was cathartic because I realized that there are lots of sisters who have stories to tell. Many of them reflected in my family with my sisters. So I felt a lot more normal, I felt a lot more I think empathetic towards my own sisters, and a lot more optimistic about what it is to be a sister.
