Happening in Fulton: Drug Give Back
Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities partnered with the City of South Fulton to do a drug take back. Hear more from Social Services Program Manager Gail Livingstone. The opioid pandemic stemmed from prescription drugs that are in the home and individuals having access to it. So, it's an opportunity for us to take back any expired medication, unused medications, and to kind of decrease the access to unused drugs. It's also a way to safely dispose it. It's all about health. Often times our seniors are the ones who may have more prescription medications at home, so we wanted to target that particular demographic of residents. because they may have more prescription drugs that they may not use or expired. It's an opportunity for them to not only come and give back their prescription drugs, but also have a whole wellness experience.
