About African Americans for the Arts (AAFTA): African Americans for the Arts started in the early 1990s in Atlanta, Georgia. It is an organization of artists from all disciplines: visual artists, fiber artists, doll makers, photographers, sculptors, wordsmiths, and jewelry artists. Our focus is to help artists learn the ins and outs of the art industry as well as techniques and skill development. In addition, we strive to be inclusive and expansive in our vision of the influence our art will have on our overall community.
