Fulton County Participates in Disability Voting Rights Week
The Fulton County is rallying the disability vote, making sure all voters are registered and have access to the ballot.
As a partner of Disability Voting Rights Week, the Fulton
County Department of Registration and Elections is building the power of the disability vote in our communities during the week of September 12-16, 2022. Coordinated by the American
Association of People with Disabilities’ (AAPD) and the REV UP Campaign, Disability Voting Rights Week is a nonpartisan initiative to help build the power and presence of the disability vote.
Throughout the week, the message for fellow disabled voters is loud and clear – Your vote is your right, and your vote is powerful. There are over 38 million people with disabilities who are eligible to vote. However, discrimination, inaccessible voting processes, and exclusion
from democracy lead to a turnout gap between voters with and without disabilities.
“Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections is constantly working to ensure the voices of all voters are heard when they enter one of our polling locations to cast their ballots,”
said Interim Director of Registration and Elections Nadine Williams.
To ensure that disabled voters receive the resources needed to exercise their right to vote, the Fulton County Voter Education Outreach team will continue its push to hit the streets. The team will visit the following locations:
