Judge Terrinee L. Gundy

Terrinee Gundy is a mom, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a lawyer, a judge, and a captivating author. Terrinee was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where her daddy’s drug addiction to crack cocaine wrecked her family and home life resulting later in a move to South Georgia that proved to be equally as challenging. Despite an early life of constant chaos and dysfunction, Terrinee excelled academically, becoming her family’s first college graduate. With a degree from Clark Atlanta University, membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the desire to change the trajectory of her family’s history, Terrinee set her sights on the law and later earned a juris doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law.

In 2012, she was appointed to the bench of the Magistrate Court of Fulton County in Atlanta, Georgia, where she participated in several programs related to educating the youth and public about the judicial system. Her zeal to improve the lives of others blossomed at John Marshall Law School, where she served as an adjunct professor; at the Juvenile Court’s Truancy Intervention Program, where she represented the interests of children as a Guardian Ad Litem; and at many events as a public speaker. Never one to rest on her laurels, Terrinee landed a column in the Atlanta Tribune known as “Meet the Judge,” where she aimed to humanize the judges featured by sharing more interesting facts and personal attributes. After the success of her column, Terrinee created and was the editor of The Municipal Quarterly, a newsletter she put out with her staff to highlight current events, efforts by other legal professionals serving the community, and customer service initiatives at the court. In 2013, Terrinee was appointed to the bench of the Municipal Court of Atlanta, where she presently presides over the DUI Division. With all of her accomplishments, Terrinee’s personal story was incomplete until 2022, when she wrote a love story about her incredible life. The Daughter Of A Junkie: A True Love Story gives a front-row seat to how this powerhouse navigated and overcame traumatic landmines while growing up in the ghetto.

As a working mom, Terrinee resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with her daughter Mia Michelle and her son Kevin.
