Prior to his appointment as Chief Operating Officer Justice, Public Safety and Technology in December 2021, Alton Adams served as Fulton County’s Deputy Chief Operating Officer for Public Safety. Adams joined Fulton County from BoardWalk Consulting, an Executive Search and Advisory firm serving nonprofits and mission-based organizations, where he served as a Managing Director.
Prior to joining BoardWalk, Adams spent more than a decade in management consulting, most recently as a partner at KPMG where his clients included The Coca-Cola Company, Procter and Gamble and Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club. He brings more than 20 years of management and consulting experience specializing in the use of data, analytics and technology to help organizations better serve their clients.
Adams has broad public service experience, having served on numerous not-for-profit boards including Jobs For Youth Boston, the Georgetown University Board of Regents, Chairman of Georgetown University’s African American Advisory Board, Board Vice Chairman of TechBridge Atlanta and on the board of Atlanta’s High Museum. He currently serves on the executive committee of the Board of the Atlanta Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America, on the Board of the Atlanta Humane Society, and on the Advisory Board of the Emory Center for Ethics.
Adams holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Georgetown University and an MBA in Marketing/Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
