The Fulton County Public Works Department will observe National Public Works Week May 16-22, 2021 by highlighting its staff and the services provided. The national observance, sponsored by the American Public Works Association, was instituted in 1960. To celebrate, the Public Works Department will be recognized with a proclamation during the May 19, 2021 Fulton County Board of Commissioner’s Meeting.
“We know that our communities depend on the expertise of the many men and women who work in Public Works,” said Fulton County Public Works Director David Clark. “The hard work done by our staff is vital to the quality of life and well-being of the people of Fulton County. Their dedicated efforts and hard work does not go unnoticed.”
The 2021 theme “Stronger Together,” challenges water professionals and residents to think about the role public works plays in creating a great place to live. By working together, the impact citizens and public works professionals can have on their communities is magnified and results in the ability to accomplish goals once thought unattainable. Clark, says it is the great team of people in the Public Works Department who keep our system in balance.
In recognition of National Public Works Week, Fulton County will spotlight several of its dedicated team members. Check out the Fulton County Facebook page to read more about these outstanding employees. This marks the 61st year of the observance.
