A Celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Tom Lowe Atlanta Fulton Water Treatment Plant

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners will celebrate three decades of excellence on May 21, 2021
At the May 19 meeting, the Fulton County Board of Commission recognized the Tom Lowe Atlanta Fulton Water Treatment Plant, with a proclamation celebrating its 30th Anniversary. The facility, which has been in operation since 1991, provides Fulton County businesses and families with reliable, high-quality drinking water 24 hours a day, every day.

The Water Treatment Plant officially celebrated its 30th Anniversary on Saturday, May 15. To commemorate the event, the Atlanta-Fulton County Water Resources Commission’s (AFCWRC) will host a Recognition Ceremony on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the Tom Lowe Atlanta Fulton Water Treatment Plant, 9750 Spruill Road Johns Creek, Ga. 30022.

“As the Chairman of the Atlanta-Fulton County Water Resources Commission, we are proud to celebrate this milestone,” said Fulton County District 1 Commissioner Liz Hausmann. “Along with the Fulton County Public Works Department, our goal is to ensure that safe drinking water is provided to every resident in Fulton County.
Clean drinking water is vital to the good health of our community. The Tom Lowe Atlanta Fulton Water Treatment Plant delivers this daily, and will continue to do so for generations to come.”

"Tom Lowe's vision decades ago was right on target and for that we are grateful,” said Fulton County District 2 Commissioner Bob Ellis. “He saw the need for a state-of-the-art water treatment plant to serve the growing population of North Fulton. As we celebrate this anniversary to honor the late Commissioner Tom Lowe, we are pleased that this award winning facility will continue to provide safe, healthy drinking water to all of our residents while ensuring it meets the stringent state and federal standards."

The facility has an incredible track record of providing clean, safe drinking water to more than 300,000 residents in Fulton County.
