On Monday, January 16, 2023, Fulton County Commissioner Natalie Hall of District 4 was honored by PUSH Excel Founder & President of Rainbow Push Coalition, Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., PUSH Excel Co-Chairpersons, Judge Greg Mathis and Attorney Joyce Tucker, Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Janette Wilson and members of the PUSH Excel Board, during their 33rd Annual Scholarship & Program Breakfast to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commissioner Hall received the Impact Educator Award for her dedication to mentoring youth and encouraging youth leadership programs.

PUSH Excel awards college scholarships to aspiring students and acknowledges leaders who are dedicated to positively impacting the youth. Commissioner Hall launched youth initiatives such as Careers-Opportunities-Entrepreneurship (C.E.O.’s) of Tomorrow and Empowering Young Men to Excel to provide Atlanta Public Schools (APS), Fulton County Schools, and Private and Charter School students with skills that encourage leadership and collaboration. The conferences also address entrepreneurship, careers, and leadership options in the fields of science, technology, engineering, law enforcement, government, mathematics, arts, film, music, and fashion.

“I am grateful and thankful. I love to serve and helping the people who need it most is what I call “HEART-work,” not hard work. Our youth need exposure to new environments, great education, and training that will push them toward success. As leaders of our communities, it is our responsibility to support future leaders and ensure they reach their highest potential.”

The Scholarship and Program Breakfast theme was “What Is Your Blueprint For Life?”. This quote was taken from Dr. King’s 1967 speech during a high school student assembly in Philadelphia, PA. PUSH Excel is an education initiative of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition and was founded in 1975 by Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. It inspired students to strive for excellence in education in spite of personal, family, and community challenges that they might experience
