With a swing of sledgehammers, Fulton County leaders signal a way to break the cycle of repeated arrests for minor offenses. This is the site of the new Diversion Center at the Atlanta City Detention Center (ACDC). Officers can refer individuals to the center for rehabilitation rather than jail time. Grady Hospital will operate the Diversion Center. A variety of services will be available for clients experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use, and poverty. Redirecting these individuals should offer relief to the Fulton County Jail.
