Fulton County Solicitor General Raises Awareness and Mobilizes Communities to End Domestic Violence in Georgia
As part of our efforts, the Office of the Fulton County Solicitor General will utilize our Victim Witness Assistance Program to host a series of events throughout the month to share advocacy, awareness, and prevention strategies. We aim to engage our office and the public in breaking the silence and actively participating in the conversation surrounding domestic violence.
To kick off the month, we are launching a powerful domestic violence awareness billboard campaign across Fulton County. These billboards will serve as a visual reminder of the importance of recognizing the signs of abuse and seeking help. Simultaneously, our Domestic Violence PSA will be launched, shedding light on various types of abuse, including teen dating violence. By raising awareness through these impactful campaigns, we hope to empower individuals to take action and create safer communities.
In addition to the billboard campaign and PSA, the Office of the Fulton County Solicitor General will be organizing community trainings catered to businesses, hair salons, law enforcement, and legal professionals. These trainings will equip participants with the necessary knowledge and resources to identify and effectively respond to domestic violence situations. Furthermore, our team will be visiting local colleges and faith-based organizations to provide support and educational resources, fostering an environment that encourages open conversations and support for survivors.
"We know that by coming together as a community and raising awareness, we can make significant strides toward ending domestic violence," said Keith Gammage, Fulton County Solicitor General. "Our goal is to create an environment where survivors feel supported and empowered, while also educating the public about the importance of early intervention and prevention." If we save just one life, we have improved the world.” -Solicitor-General, Keith E. Gammage
All of our Domestic Violence Awareness Month initiatives are in addition to our ongoing advocacy. We invite everyone to join us in taking a stand against domestic violence this October. Together, let's break the cycle, support survivors, and work towards building a future free from violence.
